One lesson I’ve learnt from being a parent, is when your kid asks what it is you’ve just served for dinner, is give them the most basic of answers. If it has a bread base with toppings tell them its pizza, if it is a casserole or saucy dish tell them its meat and sauce, if its a pasta dish, its spaghetti. If I try to tell them what it actually is I’ll always hear “But I don’t like this”.
So when I served Satay Beef Stirfry, it was meat and veggies. We have a 2 taste rule here, one taste to be polite, one taste to decide if they like it or not. As soon as he tasted this he looked at me and said “Hang on mum, is this peanut butter meat?” and immediately I knew it was a big yes from him. Husband is pretty easy to please so I got a yes from him as well.
This is super easy in the Cook Processor and can be spiced up however you like. We like our stirfrys quite simple but you can take the flavour as far as you want adding basil, coriander, ect. This will also pair well with any rice side dish. We paired it with steamed veggies from the steamer basket and it was delicious.
