Avocado Chocolate Mousse

This recipe has been floating around the web for years now and while the idea intrigued, the flavour combination made me crazy nervous although we have had success with the likes of Black Bean Brownies and the infamous Ritz Apple Pie (which seriously works!). I recently picked up 10 avocados for $2 and if you’ve seen the price of them here you would understand my excitement of this bargain. After nachos, avocado on toast, avocado pasta and eating it by the spoon. I still had 2 left threatening me with a really short shelf life and knew it was well and truly time I tried the highly spoken about Mousse.

It definitely lived up to the hype, it was creamy and rich and everything you could hope for in a mousse. We opted for milk chocolate as I wanted the boys to like it and didn’t want the bitterness over powering their opinions which for us was the right choice. If you don’t mind dark chocolate though, go for the dark.

What’s the most unusual dish you’ve made that screams “you wouldn’t believe its made with this ingredient”?
